A chilly Walk the Dogs 4/14

 

The ice is just out and Comet wants to swim.

Walk the dogs 4/13 and bantam chicks outing.

Air temperature unseasonably warm I'm in shorts after work. Lake temperature ice cold because yeah, ice out!  I dipped my toes in for the dogs who wanted to swim and I didn't have a long leash with me only the 6 footers.

 

After our dog walk the baby chicks got some outdoor time, it was 80 degrees. Still some snow on he ground but it's melting fast today.
 

Getting help with my writing and those baby bantams can sure make a mess on their brooder plate

Warmth, I know it won't last but I'll enjoy it while I can

 It's warm, its warm, its warm! Our winters are so cold that it's a massive relief when we finally get a warm day. I got the baby bantam chicks outdoors and the bearded dragons. We took the dogs to the lake which is mostly iced out but I hear there are still some areas with ice.

Little rescue bantam's rear area is still healing from the massive pasty bottom she had in the not so great feed store. We are hopeful she can fully recover and life a good life.

Just sitting in the greenhouse with my peeps.

The snow is melting and we had "ice out" in the duck pools.

 Basically I pried the remaining huge ice chunks out of the ducks pools so I could fill them with nice water. The first paddle of the spring is always special for them.

 

Dust Bathing Beauties, rescue bantams are enjoying life.

 It's warm enough in the greenhouse to get the rescue bantams out for a little while some days. I'm hoping some fresh air, sunshine and just doing normal chick things will help them to continue to heal and thrive. They love dust bathing in the dry dirt in the greenhouse!
