What's ripe and ready today

At last school is out and the days can move a little more slowly. Today I see what needs to be harvested and which produce from the garden can be part of our meals this day. KitKat is right there to help out.

Starting to ripen over the last few days; strawberries and haskaps (honey berries). Some will be made into  jam and some for fresh eating.

Haskaps growing well this year. They taste a bit like blueberries when ripe.

The chickens see what I'm up to through the fence, they want berries!

Caught in the act of berry harvest by Buffy Puffy. She enjoyed a few berries.

KitKat is slacking!

The beardies LOVE berries and love spending time outdoors.

Chard was harvested to be used in today's breakfast.

Several bunches of broccoli were harvested to be used in today's dinner.

A large patch of beautiful wild daisies are growing in our berry area.
