Other things over the past week a pictures and captions post.

The big projects over the past week were finishing up the fencing expansion and mapping the fruit orchard. On the pet side of things I gave the lizards a good look over and considered if they have all they need for this stage of life. I was reminded they are getting old when a friend with same age beardies told me the results of a recent vet. visit their bearded dragon had. Smaller projects and happenings always abound though and here are a few highlights.

I started using one of the long chicken tractors for little bun buns (our small male rabbit) to have a play cage during the day. Because the cage is so long and low to the ground it's very hard to get bun buns out of it again at bedtime. I make him have an upside down baby buns snuggle every evening that he gives me a hard time! He can't stay in the tractor cage at night because it's not predator safe.

baby buns snuggle time 'cause he wouldn't come out of the play cage nicely at bedtime!

I cleaned the chicken and duck coop, a very big job since I'd left it a bit longer than normal then brought used shavings to various garden areas for later re-use.
I dealt with broody chickens, some of which want to brood in the same place by taking them out and shutting off the nest boxes for a time.

It's mine, no it's mine!

Dipsy the frizzle is broody again.

We had a couple of good visits with friends Jeanne and Jon, ended up getting and planting a little peach tree for them and taking Jon shopping with us, fun day. They have their own cat that would certainly be a farm cat if they were a farm :-). Monkey the cat supervised the planting of the little peach tree.

Little Red Haven peach tree, we got one this same size last summer and it's already as tall as me. Hopefully this one will do well for them and give fruit in a few years.

A less pleasant happening (for Rufus anyway) was giving Rufus a course of antibiotics for 10 days. He got hurt last time our visiting cat was hanging out here and the area he was bitten or scratched didn't heal right and became infected. It's all better now and the fur is re-growing. Antibiotics finished up a few days ago.

We've had some hot days so I'm making sure the animals have plenty of cool water and refresh it a few times through the day. The big bunnies, Matilda, Stella and lilla, love a freshly filled water bowl with cold water.

I transplanted some little leeks into the garden, added a couple more plants to my hummingbird/butterfly garden,  watered vegetable gardens often, worked 2 days of summer school and shut my finger in the car door, ouch!
