I got Willow out nice and early for a long walk. It was chilly today but nicer in direct sun.
Willow and Dartha were due for a booster shot but unfortunately our wonderful veterinarian passed away a while back. This was the only vet. they ever knew and they did well going there. So what to do, we still haven't found a suitable new veterinarian. Our vet. was always full of good information and never pushed extras to make more money or excessive vaccinations and treatments. If there was ever a problem such as what we went through with a cat with heart problems many years back and later Freeze's medical issues during his final year the veterinarian was always patient to talk over options and return phone calls.He was a real asset to the area.
Anyway the shots were due and I saw a large farm store was holding a vet. clinic and decided to try that. There was a long wait and it was very stressful for the dogs, I was able to talk with the staff while they did their long set-up, they carry everything with them and go from place to place. Anyway our dogs were able to wait in the car and only I had to wait in line since I explained that they wouldn't cope with the busy store and many, many dogs and cats there. The paperwork took some time and the staff couldn't get their computer system working. After almost an hour of waiting for them to set up and do paperwork the Veterinarian and a staff member came out to the parking lot to give our dogs their shots so the dogs wouldn't have to go in the busy store. The people were great but the system seems to need some work. They said that in the more rural areas their wifi hotspot doesn't always work which was part of the problem. Everything, the vaccination forms and even the payment and receipt, had to be done on paper by hand since they couldn't get on to their computer.
Willow and Dartha were VERY happy to get done and get home!
