New Addition- Hardy Kiwi

We like to add something new every year and this year that addition is Hardy Kiwi or Arctic Kiwi. These are kiwi type plants that can grow in colder zones. They are not the same as the tropical kiwi in the stores. Most types are furless and smaller. I plan to add several to get a good mix and good pollination, these first two are Issai Kiwi and Jenny Kiwi. They are two completely different types of hardy kiwi and both said to be self pollinating. I'm a bit worried about the Jenny kiwi because although the tag and some websites say zone 5 and up other websites say zone 6 and up and it's a deliciosa not an arguta...we are zone 5 and on the colder end of that. Some hardy kiwi is also  safe to zone 4 and those are what I'd like to add next to the hardy kiwi area. I planted these kiwi, which need to climb, along a fence line. I'll have to watch and see how the chickens react to these because they can certainly peck through and these will eventually spread in and out of their fence. We have a temporary corn plot in this area too which won't be there next year. This area is also home to some of the lowbush blueberry plants and a few other things. Where the corn currently is our haskaps-honey berries, will be moved this fall or next spring. Those are currently in the chicken run and the birds have been very destructive to those particular plants!

Hardy Kiwi ready to be planted

But will the chickens bother it when this winds into and out of their fence?

Hardy Kiwi "Jenny" will it be hardy? From what I've been learning this doesn't seem quite right for our area.

Hardy Kiwi "Issai", this should be fine for our area.
