Broody Duck Found, baby chicks- 3 weeks old give or take depending on hatch day- Farm 6/6

Rocky the duck was out all night but came away from her nest early this morning when I found it. I had a feeling there couldn't be many eggs since our ducks are old and don't lay very much anymore. Rocky had two eggs, a rock and some detritus she'd decided needed to be in her nest. She didn't seem too upset to be found, she washed, ate and went about her business with the flock.

I filled the pools while I looked for Rocky thinking the hose sound might draw her out.

There you are Rocky! Near the area where the farm fence meets the dog yard fence.

Two eggs and random stuff.

Rocky went straight to one of the many food bowls

And had breakfast with some of the chickens

Then a swim

Some preening

And settling back into regular duck life

After work I got the baby chicks, now about 3 weeks old, out in the yard in a cage for a while. They'd been cooped up n the coop for a couple days since it was raining.

Little chicks having a nice time, the frizzles are so cute!

And a few of the ducks just hanging out in the afternoon. Wait where's Rocky,  hope she isn't starting another nest!
