I did after work farm chores rather quickly so I could get dog walking in before the rain. Then back home to put the younger chicks in right as the high winds were starting. Just got them in the coop before the rain began.
The small-ish, yellow bitey dog we sometimes see on our walks started to run towards Willow but when I spoke calmly to the dog it stopped short and did the right thing. Progress, I think. Willow still felt a bit anxious after the encounter.
Back home just in time the younger chicks were a bit worried as the high winds started. They're usually spread over this large outdoor enclosure but were gathered on the edge. They still didn't make it easy to get them back in the coop though! Couple more weeks and they will be able to run loose with the flock.
